Ahmed Bahajj is a broadcast journalist with special interest in sports,current affairs and human interest stories .He is referred to as the mwananchi reporter. He started journalism in 2010 as an intern at Radio Salaam Fm Mombasa as a roaming reporter covering daily mwanachi live links in Mombasa streets.He introduced a sports segment called “tama la spoti”which became an instant hit with Mombasa sports fanatics. He was poached by China Radio International in 2011 where he was taken through several intensive training in Beijing China which nartured his media talent and skills. In China Radio he covered stories on current affairs,African Union,East Africa Union,culture features,human interest stories across all East Africa countries . Among the notable interviews was a one on one with the then Tanzania President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and also Rwanda President Paul Kagame . In 25th Dec 2019 he applied a news anchor job at KTN NEWS but instead he was offered a sports anchor /reporter a role he undertook and gained massive followers across the country for his charismatic presentation and Swahili language mastery. During the 2022 general elections Bahajj was in the the famous popular Show called kivumbi 2022 which he introduced a segment where mwananchi held held a mock weekly election that was even acknowledged by Yowerri Kaguta Museveni the President of Uganda. At KTN NEWS Bahajj became a versatile journalist from the experience he gained from international Media and for this he successfully did several shows apart from sports.He did a show called “KIPI SIJASIKIA “where he interviewed Kenyan famous personalities especially politicians on their life,family,career,scandal and success. June 5th 2023 Ahmed Bahajj joined Cape Media at TV 47 as a sports anchor,reporter and sub editor managing the Swahili sports desk and he will also feature in the weekend Swahili news with Mwanaisha Chidzuga with interesting segment called “HUKU KWETU”where he will highlight different weird Kenyan traditions and culture.
