Robbers steal Ksh2.7 million from an office in Nairobi

Police have launched investigations after robbers broke into an office in Kamkunji, Nairobi and escaped with Ksh2.7 million cash.

The robbery incident occurred on Sunday, February 11, 2024 night at a business center in Kamkunji, Nairobi County.

According to the police report, security guards who were manning the business enterprise were not present to record statements about what exactly happened during the robbery.

Police stated that the suspected thieves gained entry to the facility by cutting locks of the main entrance.

According to the managers, the robbers may have collaborated with security guards or other staff within the premises.

The managers also provided the CCTV footage showing how the robbers entered before escaping with the cash.

So far, no suspect has been arrested in connection to the incident as police continue with investigations.

A similar incident occurred on February 3, when a police officer was arrested in Kisii County for engaging in robbery activities.

The rogue police officer was cornered by members of the public in a violent robbery on February 3, 2024.

Police Constable Edgar Opollo was saved from a furious mob by Kisii Central police who were on patrol, after finding the armed suspect under a hail of hefty blows.

On inquiry, the officers established that the suspect had robbed a smartphone from a Kisii University student, and on frisking the injured suspect, they found the phone.

He was arrested and escorted to the station.

In another incident on December 20, 2023, police arrested four robbers in Lodwar and recovered stolen cash.

 This was after Police officers based in Lodwar Police Station and their Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI colleagues intercepted a getaway vehicle at Sopel along Lodwar-Kitale Highway and arrested the four occupants, namely; Stephen Kamire, Erick Odhiambo, Raphael Ndeda Otieno, and Emmanuel Okoth.

Among items recovered during the incident include Ksh300,000/=, 4 smartphones, 8 SIM cards, and 3 button phones.
