Kenyan rapper Stephen Otieno Adera, widely known by his moniker Stivo Simple Boy, has once again proclaimed himself as the king of Kenyan music.

Speaking on Radio 47 on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the rapper made the bold claim using the Swahili words ‘mimi ni mnyama wa Kenya,’ which he translated on air as ‘I am the animal of Kenya.’

“I told my fans, I am the Lion of Kenya. I am the animal of Kenya,” Stivo Simple Boy told Baze47 show host Manucho as they both burst into laughter.

Stivo Simple Boy declares himself king of hip-hop

In August 2023, Simple Boy boldly declared himself the hip-hop king alongside his fellow compatriot, Khaligraph Jones.

The 33-year-old also asserted that he holds a unique position in the realm of hip-hop music, with Khaligraph being the only other artist in his league.

“Khaligraph and I reign as the Kings of Hip Hop. Therefore, I urge people to bring their children to us, as we are the masters of lyrical artistry,” he gloated.
