Shabana FC Secretary General, Elizaphan Kerama, has clarified the reports circulating on social media about the exclusion of six players from Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo’s plans.
Speaking during the interview at Radio 47 on #MikikiYaSpoti show on Sunday January 28, 2024, Kerama cleared the air on rumors on social media suggesting that Shabana FC was parting ways with several players due to disappointing results.
Kerama however emphasized that no player had been officially released from the team, and only two players were slated to go on a short term loan.
With optimism about the team’s future under the new coach, Kerama highlighted the club’s commitment to finding suitable solutions within the framework of FIFA’s transfer regulations.
He explained that when the transfer window opens, players can move between teams, and the club is exploring options to accommodate players not in the coach’s plans.
Regarding financial matters, Kerama vehemently stated that there are no outstanding dues to any Shabana player.
He invited any player with claims of unpaid dues to come forward, affirming that the club has paid all its players, including out-of-contract bonuses such as Christmas tokens.
He declared, “Any Shabana player who has not been paid should come out and clearly state whether we owe him anything. We have paid all Shabana players up to date,” dispelling any doubts about the club’s financial integrity.
Shabana FC is determined to navigate these difficulties and secure its place in the league.
