Gengetone artiste Sylvia Ssaru declared that her dowry will cost her future husband KSh 1B.
Speaking to bloggers she said the price of dowry keeps increasing by a million Kenya shillings.
“Naeza sema kulingana na bei yangu saa hii lakini of course sitaolewa saa hii, nipeeni miaka kadhaa lakini kila mwaka bei inapanda na kama bilioni hivi,”she said.

A translation of this is, “I can only quote my price currently as much as I can’t get married now. Give me a few years and each year the price hikes by a billion.”

She went ahead and compared herself to Khaligraph’s new home. She claimed that Khaligraph had spent KSh 1B on his house wondering why a man wouldn’t spend the same amount on her.
“Kwani nyumba ya Khaligraph amejenga na pea ngapi? Bilioni! Sasa kulipia msichana kama mimi bilioni ni tatizo?” She posed.
“How much did Khaligraph spend on his home? A billion shillings! Why wouldn’t a man spend that amount on me?”
The interviewers further inquired asking what she brings to the table to deserve that amount of dowry.
“Let me tell you, I am not just the table I am the full dining set,” she stated amidst a chuckle.
