Manchester United has announced that Jadon Sancho will be segregated from the first team pending a resolution of an indiscipline issue.
The England international was engaged in a public spat with United manager Erik Ten Hag.
Ten Hag indicated that Sancho did not perform as expected during their training sessions, hence the reason he was not picked for the United’s 3-1 loss to the Arsenal clash.
The 23-year-old forward went on a social media rant to call out the manager after the public criticism, calling him a lair.
“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue,
“I have conducted myself in training very well this week. stated Sancho in a now-deleted X formerly Twitter post.
The public spat indicated a possible mover for the player, with many speculating that would add to the list of players playing their trade in the Saudi Arabia pro-League.
However, Jadon Sancho reported at Manchester United’s training ground on Monday amid uncertainty over his future.
Today the club has sought to clarify the current situation with Sancho.
“Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending the resolution of a squad discipline issue.” Stated the club in a statement.
In the deleted post Sancho also indicated that he would respect any decision made by the coaching staff at the club.
“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.
“I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”
Sancho, who completed a £73 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United, has undeniably struggled since his return to England.
He has registered only 12 goals in 82 appearances for United across all competitions.
His contract with Old Trafford runs until 2026, with the club holding the option to extend it for an additional year.
