Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has deleted his controversial post, criticizing manager Erik Ten Hag before the international break.
The unexpected exchange between the two was a major talking point after Ten Hag dropped the former Borussia Dortmund forward from his squad that played during the 3-1 loss to Arsenal.
“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game, he was not selected.” Ten Hag said.
Shortly after the public criticism, Sancho vented his frustration in a now-deleted social media post barely hours later.
“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue, “I have conducted myself in training very well this week.
“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into,
“I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!
“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team,
“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.
“I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!” he wrote.
The public spat indicated a possible mover for the player, with many speculating that would add to the list of players playing their trade in the Saudi Arabia pro-League.
However, Jadon Sancho reported at Manchester United’s training ground on Monday amid uncertainty over his future.
During his upcoming pre-match press conference, Ten Hag is expected to publicly address the ongoing saga.
Manchester United will resume their season against Brighton on Saturday.
