Kenya Power has assured Kenyans that power is being restored across various parts of Nairobi and Mt Kenya region.
The power supply company released a statement on Friday night following loss of power in the larger Nairobi metropolitan.
“At 2145 hours we experienced a system disturbance leading to loss of bulk power supply to various parts of the country. We are working in collaboration with teams from all involved sector partners to facilitate speedy restoration of power supply in the shortest time possible,” read part of their statement.
Kenya Power shared an update at 1 am saying power had been restored in Mt Kenya region.
“We are working to restore normalcy in all other areas as soon as possible. Initial reports indicate that the power outage was caused by a fault in one of the generation plants.”
Kenyans however took to social media to express frustrations over delay in restoration of power more than eight hours later.
