TV47 awarded at Devolution Conference for championing devolution

Cape Media LTD- owned TV station TV47, Kenya’s fastest-growing television station, has been feted once again… this time, for highlighting and advocating for issues that affect common ‘mwananchi’ at the grassroots across the country.

The station was named the first runners up in The Tai Award during the Devolution Warriors Awards gala held on Wednesday, August 16 evening at the Eldoret Sports Club, Uasin Gishu County.

The 8th Devolution Conference Steering Committee representative, while presenting the award to a dozen of enthusiastic and elated TV47 staff, said that the station is the embodiment of a devolution warrior.

True to its name – TV47, the television station boasts of more than 40 correspondents spread across the 47 counties in Kenya, with an up-to-date, 24/7 news bulletins, feature stories and special reports that not only educate and inform, but also entertain

Speaking after receiving the award, Cape Media Chief Operating Officer Mr. Wilson Mbugua said the recognition will only but catapult TV47 to continue championing for devolution.

The Devolution Warrior Awards are aimed at recognizing and celebrating the efforts of individuals and institutions that have shown exemplary performance in promoting, protecting and championing devolution in Kenya.

These awards are held after every 5 years, with the inaugural awards having been held during the 4th Annual Devolution Conference in 2017.
